My partner (John O’Leary) and our friend (Liz Harvey) had been on a Holiday in Barcelona, in which they sang a bad rendition of Minnie Riperton’s ‘Loving You’. It got to them thinking about doing it as a fund raising activity, giving back to Macmillian. So their journey began making up this hysterical fake mini series of them coming up with the idea, picking the song and of course introducing themselves to the world – who they are and how cancer has affected them in their lives.

On their ‘Just Giving’ page their story is as follows…

My fab friend John O very sadly lost his mum to cancer and I’m still fighting it after 2 years of being diagnosed!!!  It’s a bugger!!!!! And I am sure most of you will agree with me on that!!! We are going to be using our ‘humour’ and certain ‘singing’ skills to laugh in it’s face…Ha Ha!!!!! ”

This beautiful song which has been the end of quite a process has been written by the wonderful Jon Kendall. The lyrics have been written from Liz and John’s thoughts and feelings about their challenges they have faced with cancer, and the support they had to see us through them tough times.

The picture of the single cover includes a picture of Liz’s tattoo – a motto she fully embodies! The song has been released across many different platforms and all profits from the song are going to Macmillan Cancer Support!
